Lititz Teen Athlete Dies Days After Chester County Crash: State Police

Another driver is dead days after the collision that killed 42-year-old Matthew DeAngelis on a Chester County highway, state police say.

Lucian Robert-Popdan Li, 19, of Lititz, succumbed to his injuries on Monday, July 17, troopers wrote in a release. 

Investigators have said DeAngelis was headed the wrong way on Route 202 in his GMC Sierra when he crashed head-on into Li's Volkswagen Taos just after midnight on Friday, July 14. 

DeAngelis was pronounced dead at the scene, while Li and his two passengers were rushed to Paoli Hospital in critical condition, according to state police. 

Authorities say the passengers, a 20-year-old man from Carmel, Indiana, and a 22-year-old man from Blacklick, Ohio, remain in "critical but stable condition" as of Tuesday, July 18. 

Li was previously a lacrosse player for Manheim Township High School according to NCSA College Recruiting. He was accepted as a student-athlete at Kenyon College in Ohio, his high school said on Twitter.
